­WHEN BUSINESS COLLIDES WITH ART, SCIENCE AND POLITICS.

Proposing a new concept of economic democracy that I feel the necessity to explore in a more scientific approach.

Economic Democracy has always been based on a practice where the government creates options for people to choose from, and within these options, people are only able to choose one option regardless of their initial economic interests. This presents people with other difficulties such as bureaucracy and antisocial behavior shown by government agencies backed the legal and moral justification provided by these governments’ agencies.  In such a way, what is left for people does not constitute a healthy philosophy for economical democracy.
This plan sets on the idea of converting a 220 acre of agricultural land owned by Mr. Osman Hassan-Osman to an innovation park in the North of Sudan to attract local and international individuals and businesses and sets the power on business innovations rather than confine innovators to options dictated by the government.  This will contribute helping businesses and innovators to gaining more understanding into the current state of the Sudanese economy, which in turn can also help inform other areas such as government departments and researchers, it can also help the people understanding their own businesses problems and the policy that surrounds these problems. To this end, the innovation park would help innovators and businesses determine their own destiny rather than that of the government.
Website: Contributing to building a strong data driven economy by providing core services such as: 1- long term income tested tenancy agreement for innovators and businesses. 2- Computational power and IT infrastructure. 3- Networking with ecosystem and access to expertise and researcher by providing a free access database for contacts and events around the innovation park. 4- Advocacy, research and development into the local business growth. 5- Partnerships with educational institutions for industry training opportunities in the form of vocational studies.
Why innovation park: People from different disciplines in the same area will be matched with their ecosystem to exchange ideas.
In data driven economies, one of the main business problems is that: different background does not communicate well with each other beyond their own narrowed expertise. They instead focus on their own expertise which hinders the phase of understanding the business problems, system design and operations.  To address this issue, the innovation park will provide the holistic approach to business theories by virtue of providing the above services to contribute to enhancing the cross businesses communication.
